At CRUSH Leather Goods, our commitment to quality and innovative design is driven by talented individuals like Belén, our Designer and Head of Product.

Belén's journey into the World of Artisanship began in her childhood. Growing up in a family of artisans, with her father and elder brother being carpenters, instilled in her a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. This creative environment led her to pursue studies in Leather Artistry in Ubrique, Spain, where she learned from the best leather artisans.

With over 25 years of experience, Belén has worked with prestigious international brands such as Smythson, Mulberry, and Anya Hindmarch, amongst others This diverse background has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and skills that she brings to her role at CRUSH Leather Goods.

Belén’s day starts early. "I arrive at the studio around 8 AM and spend the first part of the morning either sketching new designs, brainstorming with the team or checking the new developments with my colleague Agustín", she says. She enjoys collaborating with the artisans to ensure that each product meets the high standards of quality and craftsmanship that define CRUSH.

One of the aspects she enjoys most about her role at CRUSH is the creative freedom. "Being able to take an idea from a simple sketch to a finished product is incredibly rewarding," Belén explains. Additionally, she greatly values direct contact with customers at B2C and B2B trade shows, where she receives valuable feedback and can see firsthand how the products are received.

One of the most memorable projects for Belén has been developing the iconic JOY style. Working closely with Agustín, the workshop manager, they meticulously planned every aspect of the design, construction, and manufacturing process. "It was a challenging yet very rewarding experience to see everything come together perfectly," Belén recalls with pride.

Looking to the future, Belén envisions CRUSH Leather Goods continuing to innovate in the world of leather products, while maintaining its commitment to sustainability and quality. "I want us to explore new techniques and shapes that are both beautiful and sustainable," she states. Her goal is for CRUSH to be recognised not only for its designs but also for its dedication to ethical craftsmanship.
